About Teen Services
If you’re a teenager in grades 8 – 12, Teen Services at the Erie County Public Library has you covered. We have programs created just for teens. Whether you’re into games, poetry, crafts, anime, or more, there’s something for you!
The Teen Space is located in a newly opened and dedicated space on the first floor of the Blasco Library. We welcome and value your input and ideas. Please stop by with program suggestions, research questions, book recommendations or just to introduce yourself.
Or contact us at: 814-451-6904 or teenspace@eriecountypa.gov
Teen Advisory Board (TAB)
Meetings are held from 2-4 PM at the Blasco Library.
Teens, we want to hear from you! What do you want from your library? Join our Teen Advisory Board to share your opinion about new titles you’d like to see in our collection, programs you’d like to plan or see offered, and more. Your time at TAB meetings and programs can count as volunteer hours, and we always offer snacks!
You do not have to join TAB to join in the fun. All teens are welcome to attend the meetings and activities. Come to a meeting and learn more. It is a great opportunity to make new friends and help make the library a great place for teens!
Who can join? Teens, age 13- 17, from any school district in Erie County, are eligible to join the ECPL TAB.
What will teens do on the TAB? Help the library stay current with teen trends and hot topics. Advise the library on collections, programs and services. Suggest, plan, execute and attend programs. Publicize and promote programs.
Why should I join? Make new friends and have fun while building teamwork and leadership skills. Earn volunteer service hours which make a REAL difference in your community and get a free TAB t-shirt.
When does TAB meet? TAB meetings and events vary. Check the events calendar for upcoming programs.
Email teenspace@eriecountypa.gov for more information or call Teen Services at 814-451-6904. Teens must attend a meeting prior to applying to join TAB. We will have new member registrations for the 2022-2023 school year in September.
EXAMPLES of TAB Activities: Movie Events, Book Clubs, Anime Events, Open Mike Poetry Events, Graphic Novel/Manga recommendations, Teen Book Reviews, Program Planning, Teen Space Recommendations, Gaming Tournaments, Author Events and more!
